Services Provided:

I will provide a safe and attractive learning environment where children can feel comfortable playing, resting, eating and learning. Children will spend time indoors and outdoors when weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather each day. They will be allowed to play in all rooms of my house that have been adequately prepared to accommodate children’s activities.

Structured learning activities that are developmentally appropriate, stimulating and fun for each child will be provided. There will be an ample supply of toys, books, materials and equipment available for children to use. Children will also be guided in developing appropriate social, communication and home living skills.

I will serve healthy nutritious meals/snacks to the children which are also kid friendly. Breakfast will be provided only at 8:00 am each morning. Lunch will be provided only at 11:00 am each day. If your child will be arriving after these times please make sure you have fed them. I will also feed them an afternoon snack.

Please do not let your child come in with any food or snack unless you have brought enough for the whole group. As this causes other children to be upset when they do not have what the other child has. (Bottles and baby food are ok of course.)

Please do not allow your child to bring in any toys as all the children will want to share it and this usually does not work out well. Toys that cannot be separated from the child when you bring them, will be placed out of reach once they arrive until the child goes home. Me having to take them away, makes me the bad guy so please try to keep them at home or in the car waiting for your child when you pick them up. Thank you.

Please walk your child in when dropping him/her off and come in to pick your child up. Do not let your child go outside without you. This is for your child’s safety. I would hate to see a child get ran over.

Parents Provide:

Parents shall provide to the day home one change of extra clothes for each child, diapers, wipes, baby bottles (with cap and labeled with your child’s name), formula or breast milk and baby food. Whole milk, juices, and table food will be provided.

Days And Hours:

Care will be provided from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Children should not come early unless prior arrangement has been made. A charge of $5.00 per child will be made for every 15 minutes the parent arrives late beginning at 5:30. My time and family time is very valuable to me therefore please arrive on time.

I have extended my hours to 6 am of a morning for those parents who are going to work early only, however you must let me know at least before 10:00 the night before. If your child arrives before 7 am and is not picked up that day before 3:30 then an additional fee of $4 per child per hour will be assessed.

If you are not working, or are already off of work, please pick up your child before 5:00. I only am extending my day to 5:30 for the occasional parent who occasionally is working and cannot be here before then. Otherwise, I am trying to prepare dinner for my family and get the daycare set up for the following day so that I may spend my evenings with my family.

Please notify me at the earliest possible time that you know your child will not be coming or will be arriving later than the expected arrival time.

Fees:

The fee for child care is $100.00 per week. This amount is due in advance every Friday afternoon prior to the next week of care. This fee reserves a space for your child and must be paid even if your child misses a day or more. Payment in advance by more than one week is fine of course.

Each child will receive 5 days of vacation/sick leave unpaid per year.

There will be no charge for days I am closed with the exception of paid holidays. *See holidays.

There will be a $25.00 penalty fee on all return checks to be paid immediately. If there is more than one returned check, your account will be put on a cash only basis.

A receipt will be made out at the end of the year with the total amount paid through the year and all my information needed for income tax purposes. If you will be needing additional weekly or monthly receipts, please let me know.

Immunizations And Health Check-Up:

Parents must keep the child’s immunizations up to date. I must have a copy of your child’s immunization record signed and dated from your physician or with the stamp on it. Please bring me a new note signed and dated from the Dr. each time a new shot is given for my records. If your child may not have their immunization due to illness, I must have a Dr.’s note on file stating this and a new date set for the immunization. Otherwise, a child without an up to date record must be excluded from day care. Children must have a health assessment form when first entering our daycare. Let me know at your yearly physical if you will be needing a new assessment form.

Medicine:

When your child needs medicine, please administer it at home if at all possible, especially all morning doses. If it is necessary that it be administered during child care please fill out a medication permission form. Medication can not be out of date and can only be administered as noted on the container. All medication must be in its original container and all prescription medication must have the pharmacy label on it with the child’s name, dosage and dr.

If Your Child Is Ill:

I must provide a healthy environment for all children in my home. For this reason your child may not be allowed to attend if he or she begins to exhibit certain symptoms of a contagious illness. If your child is running a fever of 100 or more you will need to keep the child home for 24 hours after the fever has gone. Children with diarrhea or throwing up for any reason (including coughing and throwing up) must be kept home for 24 hrs after no more throwing up or diarrhea. This also applies if you suspect the child has a contagious illness such as pink eye, mumps, chicken pox, pin worms, strep, head lice, runny green nose ect… Please keep your child home until they are well enough to return to and participate in all daycare activities. A child who is miserable, feeling sick makes for a miserable day for all! I reserve the right to send home a child who is not feeling well enough to participate in normal daycare activities.

If your child becomes sick at day care, the parents are responsible for making sure they or their emergency caregiver pick up the child within one hour after notified. If a child is not picked up within that one hour, a fee of $18 per hour will be added onto your child care for that day.

Vacation/Sick Leave:

I will take off for a vacation with my family during the year. You will know these dates well in advance so that you may arrange other childcare. There will be no charge for my vacations. If an emergency arises or I become sick, you will not be charged for that day. It is a good idea to have a backup caregiver in mind in cases of emergencies.

Holidays:

I will be closed for the following holidays each year and these will be paid holidays no matter what day of week they fall on. They equal 10 days each year. I may take off various days surrounding these holidays which will be unpaid. You’ll be notified in advance. I have found over the years that it is easier on the parents to pay these occasional days than to pay for a 2 weeks vacation for me during the year when they often times also must pay another caregiver in my absence.

Divorce or Custody Agreement Paper:

If you have divorce or custody agreement papers forbidding a parent or other guardian from picking up your child, please let me know. I will also need a copy of these papers for my file. Otherwise, I by law must release your child to any legal parent or guardian.

Potty Training:

I will work with you when you have decided it is time to potty train your child. Children must remain in diapers/pull-ups however at my home until they have been accident free for 2 weeks. If they begin to have accidents during the day after making the transition, they will be placed back in diapers/pull-ups. Please avoid sending your child in clothes that are difficult for them to remove during this time period such as onsies, overalls, buttons. I have found the easiest are dresses, shorts, sweat pants. They are gaining their independence and like to be able to dress and undress themselves. Please keep the communication going between the two of us on how your child is progressing at home.

Pets:

My daughter Brittany has a cat, Demonaide, that is kept in her bedroom in the basement. Occasionally, the cat will escape and we may see it…otherwise it’s our little invisible friend. The cat does come upstairs to play and get loved after all the kids leave however. The cat is and will continue to stay up to date on its’ immunizations and is in healthy condition. If any other pets are added to our home, I will inform the parents in writing.

Holidays/Birthdays:

Prior to most holidays we will have a little party here. Parents are welcome to and encouraged to send goodies for goody sacks or snacks. Please remember to include Logan in our group so as he will not feel left out. Brittany although a teen also still loves to feel included too if it involves food. Ha Ha! Thank you.

Parents are welcome to bring the snacks for their child’s birthday or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend. The kids love to celebrate and sing as a group!! We just love parties!!

** Should you have any questions concerning this policy please feel free to discuss them with me. I want the lines of communication to stay open between the parents and myself. You have the right to terminate childcare at any time just as I do. I am sure you would appreciate as much notice as possible if this were the case and I am hoping you will show me the same courtesy if a need ever arises that you should terminate your child care.

Parents are always welcome in my home.
